A community-wide initiative combating antisemitism across San Diego, uniting Jewish and non-Jewish leaders and organizations to respond together to rising hate.
Jewish Federation of San Diego is a proud founding member of The Finest Community Coalition. The Coalition grew from a simple conviction: antisemitism is not only a Jewish problem, and confronting it takes the whole community. Today, 48 member organizations, Jewish and non-Jewish, coordinate strategy, share information, and respond together when hate surfaces in San Diego.
The Coalition's work has already reshaped the civic landscape. AB 715, California's antisemitism reporting law for K-12 schools, passed with Federation's support and created a funded Antisemitism Coordinator position at the state level. The San Diego City Council voted 8-0 to adopt the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism. And when hate has been platformed in our city, the Coalition has mobilized the community and been heard.
Convened by our Federation since early 2023, the Antisemitism Roundtable is the working table behind the Coalition's coordination: the place where local organizations share information, spot emerging challenges, and build the relationships that strengthen our collective response.
